Toronto, ON – The Minnesota Twins designated pitcher P.J. Walters for assignment and activated pitcher Mike Pelfrey from the 15-day disabled list on Friday.
Pelfrey was placed on the disabled list on June 23 with a back strain. The right-hander is 3-6 with a 6.11 ERA in 14 starts this season.
Walters went 2-5 with a 5.95 ERA in eight starts for the Twins this year.
