Philadelphia Union midfielder Roger Torres is set to spend the next 6-8 weeks on the sidelines after undergoing surgery to repair an MCL sprain and minor meniscus damage.

The 20-year-old suffered the injury in a reserve league match against the New England Revolution.

Torres joined Philadelphia prior to the 2010 campaign and has totaled three goals and nine assists during his time with the club.

On loan during the 2010 and 2011 seasons, the Union completed a permanent move for Torres from Colombian side America de Cali this offseason.

In two appearances for the Union this season, Torres has tallied one assist.
