Top FCS schedule smaller than usual

A ho-hum week of FCS games?

You might say that if you look at The Sports Network/ FCS Top 25.

The nation's new top-ranked team, Georgia Southern, and No. 2 Northern Iowa have byes during the third weekend of action.

In addition, No. 8 North Dakota State, No 9 Wofford (1-1), No. 11 New Hampshire and No. 15 Southern Illinois are idle - meaning six of the Top 15 teams will enjoy some R&R this weekend.

There are two match-ups within the Top 25. Reigning FCS champion Eastern Washington (0-2) will visit No. 12 Montana (1-1) in a key Big Sky game, while No. 13 James Madison (1-1) goes to No. 22 Liberty (1-1) in non-conference action.
