MINNEAPOLIS – The Minnesota Timberwolves have parlayed the Kevin Love trade into a record-setting week at the team's box office.

Timberwolves officials say they have sold more than 300 new season-ticket packages since Love was officially traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers last weekend. That beats the previous record in 2011 that was set when Ricky Rubio announced that he was coming over from Spain to play for the team.

Fans worn down by 10 straight seasons of missing the playoffs have been energized by the return for Love, headlined by No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins. They also got Anthony Bennett from Cleveland and veteran forward Thaddeus Young in the deal.

The Wolves also set a new five-day record with 500,000 page views and 200,000 visitors to timberwolves.com.
