Tigers place Lobstein on DL

Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - The Detroit Tigers have placed pitcher Kyle Lobstein on the 15-day disabled list with a sore left shoulder.

Lobstein is 3-5 with a 4.34 ERA in eight starts this season. He was scheduled for an MRI exam Sunday morning.

Right-hander Buck Farmer will replace Lobstein in the rotation and will start Thursday for the Tigers in their series opener against the Angels. Farmer is 5-1 with a 2.98 ERA at Toledo.

To take his spot on the roster, the Tigers recalled infielder Dixon Machado from Triple-A Toledo. He hit .274 with six doubles, one homer and 16 RBI in 40 games with the Mud Hens this season.
