The Detroit Tigers have added catcher Omir Santos to the roster after demoting utilityman Ryan Raburn following Tuesday's game against the Boston Red Sox.

Raburn has struggled all season and is batting just .146 in 37 games. It's the lowest average for players with at least 100 plate appearances. He had started 23 games at second base, a position the Tigers have had a difficult time trying to fill.

Tigers manager Jim Leyland said after Tuesday's game that Danny Worth and Ramon Santiago would likely be next in line at second base.

Santos was batting .310 with seven doubles and nine runs batted in over 27 games at Triple-A Toledo.
