Tiger Woods rolled in a birdie putt and pumped his fist. He didn't have a great round at The Players Championship. The celebration was for getting two more.

Woods had a 1-under 71 that appeared to be enough for him to make the cut.

He still was eight shots behind Kevin Na, who had a 69 to reach 8-under 136 among the early starters on Friday. Na had the 54-hole lead at the TPC Sawgrass three years ago before he fell away during the final round.

Branden Grace of South Africa (67) and David Hearn of Canada (71) were two shots behind.

Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth were among those who played in the afternoon. Spieth needed a good round to make the cut.
