PGA TOUR - PRESIDENTS CUP, Muirfield Village Golf Club, Dublin, Ohio - The 2013 edition of the Presidents Cup kicks off this week from Muirfield Village, the yearly PGA Tour stop for the Memorial.

The U.S. is 7-1-1 all-time in the Presidents Cup, with wins in each of the last four matchups against the Internationals.

Tiger Woods has an impressive track record at Muirfield Village, posting five Memorial Tournament victories in his career. Steve Stricker and Matt Kuchar have also won the Memorial, in 2011 and 2013, respectively. Woods last won in 2012, giving the American team the last three winners, which is two more than the International team has combined. Ernie Els, who has played the most Presidents Cups for this International team, was the Memorial winner in 2004 and was runner-up in 2000.

Guiding the teams will be Fred Couples for the Americans and Nick Price for the Internationals. Couples is in his third stint as captain, while Price is leading the Internationals for the first time.

The format features six foursomes matches on Thursday, six four-ball matches on Friday, five foursomes matches and five four-ball matches on Saturday and 12 singles on Sunday. The first team to 17 1/2 wins the Presidents Cup, unless the match is deadlocked at the end of singles play, which occurred in 2003, resulting in a tie.

Golf Channel will have coverage the first two days before NBC takes over for the weekend.

EUROPEAN TOUR

SEVE TROPHY - Saint-Nom-la-Breteche Golf Club, Paris, France - Opposite the Presidents Cup this week is the Seve Trophy, which pits Continental Europe against Great Britain & Ireland.

Continental Europe won the first edition of this event 13 years ago, but GB&I has won the last six matchups, including a 15 1/2 - 12 1/2 victory in the previous meeting.

Jose Maria Olazabal, who guided Europe to a 2012 Ryder Cup triumph, will captain the Continental Europe team, while Sam Torrance will lead GB&I.

The format features a series of five fourball matches on each of the first two days, two sessions of four foursomes on Saturday and 10 singles on the final day.

Golf Channel will have coverage all four days.

Next week, the European Tour features the Portugal Masters, which Shane Lowry won in 2012.

LPGA TOUR

REIGNWOOD LPGA CLASSIC - Pine Valley Golf Club, Beijing, China - The LPGA Tour is in China this week for the inaugural Reignwood LPGA Classic.

This will be the tour's first visit to Beijing, the capital of China.
