Sarajevo, Bosnia (SportsNetwork.com) - Bosnia-Herzegovina has fired head coach Safet Susic after a poor start to the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.
Susic took over Bosnia in 2009 and has enjoyed the most successful period in the brief history of the national team.
However, Bosnia has struggled in Euro qualifying thus far, claiming just two points from four matches and suffering a 3-0 defeat to Israel on Sunday that dropped the team to fifth in the six-team Group B.
The 59-year-old Susic helped Bosnia reach the playoffs for the 2010 World Cup as well as Euro 2012 before finally qualifying for their first major tournament this year by reaching the 2014 World Cup.
Bosnia lost two of its three games in Brazil and failed to advance beyond the group stage, while the poor start to Euro qualifying has left the side in danger of missing out on the Euros despite the field having been expanded to 24 teams.
