Stosur dances her way to 3rd round of US Open

NEW YORK – The real drama for Samantha Stosur had little to do with tennis, much more to do with how she moved on the court after the match.

The defending champion celebrated her 6-3, 6-0, second-round victory over Edina Gallovits-Hall of Romania with her version of the running man shuffle — her own little shout-out to Redfoo of the music group LMFAO, who was in the stands for her match Wednesday night.

"I figured, well, there's only going to be maybe one chance you can do that at the U.S. Open with him there," Stosur said.

Shortly after the match, Stosur was still waiting for friends to chime in with the verdict on her dance.

"I'm sure I looked like a goose," she said.

Nobody has many questions about her tennis so far at Flushing Meadows, where she has lost a total of five games in two matches and spent a combined 1 hour, 51 minutes on the court.

"I feel like I've been playing well," Stosur said. "Of course, there's always things you want to go and fine tune in these days off, which is what I'll do tomorrow."

Stosur, eliminated in the first round at the Australian Open and second round at Wimbledon earlier this year, plays 31st-seeded Varvara Lepchenko in the third round.
