on-Trent, England (Sports Network) - Stoke City confirmed on Monday that the club will appeal the red card received by Rory Delap in the team's FA Cup victory over Crawley Town over the weekend.

Delap received his marching orders for an early challenge on David Hunt, but after studying footage of the incident, manager Tony Pulis expressed his frustration over a lack of consistency among officials and confirmed his intention to appeal the three-match ban.

In 19 league appearances this season for Stoke Delap has tallied two goals, but will miss games with Swansea City, Norwich City and Chelsea should the appeal be turned down.
