Stephen Holt scored a career-high 35 points and St. Mary's reached the 20-win mark for the season in a 76-54 win over Santa Clara on Saturday.

Holt was 14 of 17 from the floor, including 4 of 6 from beyond the arc. Brad Waldow added 12 points for St. Mary's (20-9, 10-6 West Coast).

The Gaels went on an extended 21-0 run in the middle of the first half — covering 9:33 — as Santa Clara went 0 for 10 and turned the ball over four times in the stretch. St. Mary's held a 43-23 advantage at intermission.

St. Mary's led by as much as 29 in the second half before cruising to the easy win.

Santa Clara (12-17, 5-11) got 16 points and five assists from Brandon Clark and 13 points from Evan Roquemore. The Broncos went 3 of 14 on 3-pointers and 11 of 18 from the line.
