Sporting Lisbon moved into third place 1 thrashing of Gil Vicente as Diego Capel and Valeri Bojinov scored two goals apiece.

Daniel Carrico provided the lone goal of the first half, but things took off for Sporting after halftime as Ricky van Wolfswinkel converted a penalty kick and Capel and Bojinov each found the net twice.

Sporting remains within three points of leaders Benfica and FC Porto, who also picked up three points this weekend.

Porto cruised to a 5-0 win over Nacional, while Benfica slipped past Beira Mar 1-0 with a first-half goal from Oscar Cardozo.

Olhanense topped last-place Guimaraes 1-0 on a penalty kick from Mateus early in the second half in the other match on Saturday, while the lone contest on Friday saw Pacos Ferreira claim its second win of the campaign by beating Academica 2-0.

Sunday's other results saw Maritimo top Setubal 1-0 on a goal from Papa Babacar Diawara in the game's opening minute, Rio Ave picked up its first victory in 2-0 fashion over Uniao Leiria, while Braga remained within three points of the top spot by securing a 3-0 triumph over Feirense.
