Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang turned into "Spider-Man" after scoring the opening goal, and St. Etienne beat Rennes, 2-0, on Friday in Ligue 1.

Aubameyang scored in the 22nd minute, grabbed a "Spider-Man" mask out of a bag behind the goal, and donned the costume as he pretended to shoot webs from his wrists at the Stade Geoffrey-Guichard.

Aubameyang received the ball and a made turn to fire into the bottom left for his sixth goal of the season, second in the league behind PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Renaud Cohade added a second goal four minutes after halftime, and St. Etienne extended its undefeated streak to five matches. Mevlut Erding was sent off in extra time for Rennes, which had its three-match win streak snapped.

St. Etienne is sixth place in the table on 15 points, four points off the top. Rennes is 10th on 13 points.

First-place PSG visits Nancy on Saturday with its season-long unbeaten streak on the line, and second-place Marseille - which is even on points - hosts Lyon on Sunday.

Also Saturday, Lille hosts Valenciennes, Montpellier hosts Nice, Reims hosts Troyes, Sochaux hosts Evian, and Toulouse hosts Brest. Also Sunday, Lorient hosts Ajaccio and Bastia hosts Bordeaux.
