Julius Ingram scored the last of his 18 points on a three-point play with 5 seconds left as Southern University defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff 65-64 Saturday.

There were nine lead changes, with Arkansas-Pine Bluff building its biggest lead at nine points in the first half and Southern its largest margin, 11 points, early in the second.

Southern (3-14, 2-3 Southwestern Athletic Conference) led 61-54 with 5:39 left when the Golden Lions (1-15, 1-3) capped a 7-0 run on Terrell Kennedy's layup with 1:24 to play, tying the score at 61.

Ingram put the Jaguars ahead 62-61 on a free throw with 24 seconds left, but Allen Smith hit a 3-pointer with 14 seconds left, setting up the dramatic finish. Savalace Townsend tried to score on a layup as time expired, but Quinton Doggett blocked it.

Kennedy's 21 points led the Golden Lions. Smith added 18.
