Duluth, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Alaina Coates scored 13 points and Elem Ibiam added 12, leading fifth-ranked South Carolina to a 67-48 victory over Georgia in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals.
Coates and Ibiam combined to make 12-of-15 shots for the top-seeded Gamecocks (27-3), who shot 57.1 percent overall and held Georgia to just 26.1 percent from the field.
Aleighsa Welch contributed 10 points and nine rebounds for South Carolina, which never trailed and bounced back nicely from Sunday's loss at Tennessee to win for the 11th time in its last 12 games. The Gamecocks will take on Kentucky in Saturday's semifinals.
Erika Ford scored 10 points and Krista Donald grabbed 13 rebounds for Georgia (20-11), which had beaten Vanderbilt in the first round of the tourney on Thursday.
