Sidney Rice says it was best for Percy Harvin, Seahawks to move on

During his seven-year career, Sidney Rice battled a number of injuries and eventually walked away from the game in 2014 over concussion concerns.

He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2007, then later played for the Seahawks from 2011-13. His best season came during the 2009 campaign when he tallied 1,312 yards and eight scores, good enough for a Pro Bowl nomination.

In a Q&A with the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Rice touched on multiple subjects, including how he's enjoying retirement, how he feels the team will fare in 2015, the Jimmy Graham trade and the Percy Harvin situation involving Seahawks teammates, among other things.

Rice, who played with Harvin in Minnesota and Seattle, responded when broached on the Harvin subject: "I have no reaction to it. That's in the past, we've moved on from that. Percy is in a better place now, which suits him better, and its better for the Hawks as well. When everything went down with (Harvin's trade away from Seattle last October), I made it clear that the best thing for Percy was to be with the New York Jets at the time, and the best thing for the Seahawks was to move on as well. Those guys in the front office made a good decision, and they never looked back from there. That's not something I'm going to comment on."
