Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has and-a-half years in prison after being found guilty of embezzling public funds in the town of Marbella in Spain.

Del Nido was working as a lawyer during the time the offenses took place, which was from 1999 to 2003, and he has been ordered to pay $3.5 million in compensation to the Marbella town hall.

Since Del Nido took over as president of Sevilla in 2002 the club has won the UEFA Cup, Copa del Rey, Spanish Super Cup and UEFA Super Cup.

He is expected to appeal his sentence.
