Sevilla and Levante scored seven minutes apart in the first half of their 1-1 draw at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Saturday, a result that does not do either side any favors.

Alvaro Negredo opened the scoring for Sevilla in the 21st minute, but Arouna Kone continued his fine form by equalizing for the visitors in the 28th minute.

Sevilla had a golden opportunity to get a late winner when it was awarded a penalty kick three minutes from time, but Negredo was denied from the spot by a save from Gustavo Munua.

The result leaves both teams squarely outside of a Champions League qualification spot. Levante, in fifth place, sits two points shy of fourth- place Malaga while Sevilla sits five points adrift despite climbing to sixth place with Saturday's result.
