Beijing, China (SportsNetwork.com) - World No. 1 Serena Williams was an easy semifinal winner Saturday at the $5 million China Open.
The 2004 Beijing champion needed just over 72 minutes to post a 6-2, 6-2 victory over third-seeded Pole Agnieszka Radwanska on the hardcourts at the National Tennis Center.
Radwanska, who won this event two years ago, is now 0-7 lifetime against the American superstar.
Williams, playing in a tournament for the first time since winning her fifth U.S. Open crown last month, is seeking to claim a remarkable 10th title this year and the 56th of her career.
Her opponent on Sunday will be Jelena Jankovic. The eighth-seeded Serbian dropped the opening set in a tiebreak, but rallied to knock off ninth-seeded Czech Petra Kvitova, 6-7 (7-9), 6-1, 6-1.
Jankovic, the 2008 China Open champ, is 1-1 in finals this year. She captured her 13th career title with a triumph in Bogota.
Williams has won six of the 10 lifetime meetings with Jankovic.
