Winnipeg, MB (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyler Seguin had two goals and two assists, including a tally during a three-goal first period for the Dallas Stars, who downed the Winnipeg Jets 4-1 on Friday.

Kari Lehtonen stopped all 21 shots he saw before exiting in the second period with a lower body injury for the Stars, who moved to 2-1-0 on the season.

"First couple of shifts were a little rough but I thought after that we really started to skate well," Dallas head coach Lindy Ruff said.

Dan Ellis came on for Lehtonen and recorded 22 saves.

Jamie Benn had a goal and two assists and Alex Chiasson added a goal and one helper in the triumph.

Blake Wheeler scored the lone goal for Winnipeg, which has dropped three straight games on the heels of a 2-0 start.

"I thought we made some mistakes in the first period and with those kinds of mistakes, we can't expect that our goaltending's going to save us like it has in the previous games but I thought that the mistakes we made were correctable," Winnipeg head coach Claude Noel said.

Ondrej Pavelec made 27 saves in defeat.

The Stars started the scoring midway through the first period as Chiasson finished one from in close on a power play. Seguin ripped a one-timer from the right point past Pavelec less than three minutes later and Benn banged home a rebound to cap the scoring in the period.

Seguin's slap shot from the left circle on the power play at the 5:10 mark of the second made it 4-0.

Wheeler got Winnipeg on the board via the man advantage 5:35 into the third.
