The Kansas City Royals have recalled pitchers Nate Adcock and Louis Coleman from Triple-A Omaha.

Adcock is 0-3 with a 3.12 earned run average in nine games (two starts) with the Royals this season.

Coleman has a 4.91 ERA in 17 contests out of the bullpen for Kansas City this year.

In addition, the Royals optioned pitcher Vin Mazzaro to Omaha and designated outfielder Mitch Maier for assignment.

Mazzaro started Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays and allowed six runs on 13 hits over 5 1/3 innings. He is 3-3 with a 5.70 ERA in eight games (six starts) this season.

Maier was batting just .172 with two homers and seven RBI in 32 games this year.
