The Kansas City Royals have agreed to terms year contract with outfielder Alex Gordon, the team announced Thursday.

Gordon notched career-highs in batting average (.303), runs batted in (87), home runs (23), and stolen bases (17) in 151 games with the Royals last season. Gordon, who turns 28 on Friday, also won his first Golden Glove award for his prowess in the outfield.

In five major league seasons, all with Kansas City, Gordon has posted a .262 average with 68 home runs and 248 RBI in 559 games.
