Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Kansas City Royals activated outfielder Alex Rios from the disabled list on Saturday.

Rios had been sidelined since early April with a non-displaced fracture of the fifth metacarpal in his left hand. He batted .321 in seven appearances before the injury.

To make room on the roster, the Royals optioned outfielder Paulo Orlando to Triple-A Omaha.

A native of Brazil, Orlando hit .241 with one home run, three doubles, five triples and seven RBI in 32 games during his first MLB action in Rios' absence.
