Winston-Salem, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Czech slugger Lukas Rosol moved into Saturday's championship match at the Winston-Salem Open, a final U.S. Open tune-up.
The 6-foot-5 seventh seed outlasted ninth-seeded Taiwanese Yen-Hsun Lu 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 in just over two hours in Friday's first semifinal affair on the hardcourts at Wake Forest University. Rosol tallied one more service break (4-3) than Lu on Day 6.
Rosol's opponent on Saturday will be 6-foot-8 Pole Jerzy Janowicz or American crowd favorite Sam Querrey.
Rosol was scheduled to meet top-seeded American John Isner in Thursday's quarterfinals, but Isner pulled out due to an ankle injury.
The 29-year-old Rosol will appear in his third career ATP final, seeking a second title. His lone championship came in Bucharest last year, and he was a runner-up, also in Bucharest, this season.
Saturday's titlist will claim $80,280.
