Tommy Robredo defeated Fabio Fognini in straight sets on Sunday to capture the ATP Vegeta Croatia Open.

The fifth-seeded Robredo had little trouble in taking down the third-seeded Fognini in a 6-0, 6-3 victory that took just over 62 minutes to finish.

Robredo, who captured his second title of the year and 12th of his career, became the first Spaniard to win at this tournament since Juan Carlos Ferrero took it home in 2010.

Italy's Fognini had his winning streak of 13 straight matches snapped as he came into the tournament having won consecutive titles at the Mercedes Cup and the German Open Tennis Championships, the first two titles of his career. He was looking to become the first Italian to win this tournament.

Robredo pocketed $98,250 with the victory.
