Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few weeks (or, like me, don't get premium cable) you probably heard about Ben Affleck's expletive-filled tirade during a recent appearance on HBO. The rant centered around 'Deflate-gate' and not surprisingly, Affleck (a Boston native) was not all too happy with the controversy surrounding Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, and Brady's pending four-game suspension.

But while just about everyone has weighed in on Affleck's rant, just about the only people we haven't heard from are members of the actual Patriots themselves.
Well on Thursday, Rob Gronkowski joined 'Access Hollywood' and was indeed asked about the remarks. Not surprisingly, Gronk loved them:
"That was excellent, what Ben said," Gronkowski said. "Big fan of Ben, and he couldn't have said it any better."
From there, Gronk continued.
"To tell you the truth, that's how I really want to talk about [Deflategate], too," Gronk continued. "We just can't go on air as an athlete and just say all that. I can't just go do that. But Ben Affleck just said it how I wanted to say it. So he did a great job. I'm passionate about football, whatever, but us as athletes, NFL players, can't just go out there in the media and start dropping F-bombs everywhere. You get fined for everything, you get fined for press conferences, for criticizing people, so you can't really do it. You have to keep it professional."
Obviously it's no surprise that Gronk would be a big fan of Affleck's remarks, as really, it was the first time that someone not associated with the Patriots really spoke out on the team's behalf. The fact that Affleck is a dyed-in-the-wool Boston native doesn't take away from the fact that, at the very least, the remarks were entertaining. And that frankly he had some very solid points to make.
At the same time, while it wasn't interesting, whether anything will be done about it is another story altogether.
As things stand, Brady is still expected to be suspended the first four games of the 2016 season.
