Mark Davis expects his team will stay in the Bay Area on a one-year lease with O.Co Coliseum, according to a report.
After that, where his Oakland Raiders play is anyone's guess. But the team will reportedly take a break from shopping for a new home in cities like San Antonio, Los Angeles and Las Vegas for now.
Via San Jose Mercury News' Tim Kawakami:
Davis stressed sensibility, not desirability, when asked why a return to Oakland was prudent. And he's right; after losing out on the initial race to Los Angeles, the Silver and Black should regroup.
That will give mayor Libby Schaaf and her staff more time to formulate a more attractive plan to retain the Raiders. If they fail, other homes will call again in 2017.
