New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Four-time Pro Bowl guard Chris Snee, who has two Super Bowl titles with the Giants, reportedly needs season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right hip.
The New York Daily News said Snee's injury is potentially career-ending.
Snee, who is Giants coach Tom Coughlin's son-in-law, had hip surgery in the offseason and appears to have injured his hip again at some point during the first few games of the season.
The 31-year-old Snee is part of a banged up New York offensive line. Center David Baas (neck) remains hurt and may also need season-ending surgery.
Snee, who is signed through the 2014 season, has started all 141 games he has played in for the Giants. He was originally selected by New York in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft.
Reports indicate that Snee will be placed on injured reserve. The roster move likely will occur Friday, possibly in conjunction with the acquisition of linebacker Jon Beason from the Panthers.
