Yann M'Vila scored the match-winner from 35 yards in the 84th minute as Rennes picked up its first win and ended a perfect start for Bastia with a 3-2 win Saturday at Stade de la Route de Lorient.

Newly-promoted Bastia won its first two matches in Ligue 1 and, even after it lost Ilan Aruajo Dall'lgna to a red card early in the second half, evened the match late through Sylvain Marchal.

But M'Vila, who is on the radar of many top European clubs, unleashed a long- range blast to secure Rennes three points. Rennes had lost its first two games this season. Romain Alessandrini and Jonathan Pitroipa also scored for Rennes.

Francois Marque scored the other goal for Bastia, which beat Sochaux and Reims in its first two matches. Bastia is still just one point off the summit after the loss.

Valenciennes 3, Ajaccio 0

Valenciennes, France - Mamadou Samassa scored in the first half and, after the sending off of Jean-Baptiste Pierazzi, Valenciennes added two more for an easy 3-0 win over Ajaccio in Ligue 1 on Saturday at the Stade du Hainaut.

Samassa opened the scoring in the 16th minute for unbeaten Valenciennes, and a red to Pierazzi in the 37th left the visitors little hope after the break.

Loris Nery added a second goal before the hour and an own goal sealed the win, as Valenciennes moved to seven points from three matches.

Valenciennes is second in the table on goal differential behind Lyon. Ajaccio lost its first of the season, but sits on just two points after four games due to a two-point penalty to start the season.

Nice 2, Lille 2

Nice, France - Djibril Sidibe scored in the 58th minute as Lille tied Nice, 2-2, on Saturday at the Stade Municipal du Ray to remain undefeated in Ligue 1 after three matches.

Dimitri Payet gave Lille the lead in the first half, but goals on each side of halftime from Nemanja Pejcinovic and Eric Bautheac gave Nice the lead at home, but only temporarily.

Three minutes after falling behind, Lille answered through Sidibe to split the points. Lille won its opener, but has tied its last two games. Nice is winless with a loss and two draws.

Reims 1, Sochaux 0

Reims, France - Newly-promoted Reims secured its first Ligue 1 win Saturday on an own goal deep in stoppage time from Sloan Privat, 1-0 over Sochaux at the Stade Auguste Delaune II.

Sochaux had Sebastien Corchia sent off in the first half, but Kamel Ghilas missed the resulting penalty. Sochaux was on the verge of a point when Privat turned the ball into his own net.

Reims had lost its first two matches. Sochaux lost its third straight to start the year, and sits at the foot of the standings.

Toulouse 1, Nancy 0

Nancy, France - Moussa Sissoko scored in the 10th minute and Toulouse held off 10-man Nancy for its second straight victory, 1-0 at the Stade Marcel Picot in Ligue 1.

Toulouse remained unbeaten after three matches, and sits third on seven points - level with leader Lyon and second-place Valenciennes. Nancy, which had Andre Luiz sent off early in the second half, lost its first game and is ninth.

Troyes 2, Lorient 2

Troyes, France - Arnold Mvuemba scored the tying goal just after the hour mark as Lorient tied Troyes, 2-2, on Saturday at the Stade de l'Aube in Ligue 1.
