Despite jumping out to a first-half lead, Lyon straight Ligue 1 match, falling to Rennes, 2-1, at the Stade de Gerland on Friday.

Ederson gave Lyon the lead in the 36th minute, but it was quickly canceled out by Jonathan Pitroipa two minutes later.

The teams remained deadlocked until the 53rd minute when Jires Kembo Ekoko found the net with what turned out to be the eventual game-winner. Ekoko leads Rennes with six goals on the year.

All five of Lyon's league losses have come in its last eight games, posting a 3-5 record over that stretch and dropping to fifth place.

Rennes jumps into a tie with Lille for third place in the Ligue 1 table, tied on 25 points.

Toulouse 0, Lille 0

Toulouse, France - Reigning champion Lille was held scoreless on Friday, playing to a 0-0 draw at Toulouse.

Lille has drawn three-straight games to remain in third place in Ligue 1. It shares that position with Rennes, which earned a 2-1 win at Lyon in Friday's other league match.

The point moves Toulouse into a tie with Lyon for fifth place in Ligue 1, deadlocked at 23 points apiece.
