Redskins S Thomas to have foot surgery
Ashburn, VA – The Washington Redskins on Tuesday announced that safety Phillip Thomas suffered a torn Lisfranc ligament in his left foot and will have surgery to correct the problem.
Since recovery time is estimated at 4-to-5 months, the 'Skins also revealed that the Fresno State product and fourth-round pick will be placed on season- ending injured reserve.
Thomas sustained the injury during Washington's preseason-opening 22-21 win over Tennessee last week.
