Columbus, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Pavel Datsyuk will miss Tuesday's game against Columbus due to a nagging injury, the team announced.

Datsyuk remained in Detroit to nurse a sore groin while the rest of the team headed to Columbus to begin a short road trip, according to the Free Press.

He had returned to the lineup for last Friday's game against rival Chicago after missing the previous two games with a groin issue.

Despite missing the first five games of the season with a shoulder injury suffered in Detroit's first preseason game, the 36-year-old Datsyuk has accumulated five goals and six assists in 10 games with a minus-1 rating.

Datsyuk is coming off a 2013-14 season that saw him play only 45 games because of a knee injury and concussion issues.

Wings coach Mike Babcock has slotted Daniel Cleary in Datsyuk's place. He has only appeared in three of Detroit's first 17 games this year.
