Arlington, TX – The Texas Rangers reinstated reliever Mark Lowe from the 15-day disabled list and designated infielder Alberto Gonzalez for assignment on Friday.
Lowe compiled a 2.30 earned run average in 26 appearances prior to landing on the DL in late June with a strained right intercostal muscle. He went 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA in five rehabilitation games between Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock.
Gonzalez batted .241 with four RBI in 24 games for Texas.
