Raiders release S Branch

Alameda, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Raiders released strong safety Tyvon Branch on Tuesday.

Branch was due $5.5 million in salary in 2015.

He has failed to stay healthy the past two seasons, missing 13 games with a broken foot last season and 14 games in 2013 with a broken leg.

The 28-year-old Branch played seven seasons with Oakland and registered more than 100 tackles in three consecutive seasons from 2009-11. He has 476 tackles, eight sacks and four interceptions in 75 career games.
