Santander, Spain – Racing striker Lautaro Acosta has been 0 draw with Sporting Gijon.
Acosta damaged the meniscus in his right knee in the 22nd minute and was forced to leave the match shortly after.
"At the time I thought it was just a sprain or something similar," he told Racing's official website, "so I carried on, but a few minutes later I was going to defend a ball in the area and I felt the crack in the knee when turning."
"Now I have to think only about recovering as soon as possible. It's disappointing but at least I know I will be able to rehab in two or three months."
The 23-year-old is on loan at Racing from Sevilla, where he has appeared in 23 matches for the club since joining in 2008.
