Purdue sophomore quarterback Rob Henry suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

The injury occurred during a non-contact drill in practice on Tuesday, said the Journal and Courier Wednesday.

Henry, a native of Ocala, Florida, threw for 996 yards and eight touchdowns with seven interceptions on 86-of-162 efficiency for the Boilermakers a season ago.

Purdue begins its 2011 slate with a September 3 home date against Middle Tennessee State at Ross-Ade Stadium.
