PSV Eindhoven forward Jeremain Lens has been handed a three-match suspension by the Dutch Football Association after a post-match altercation with Feyenoord's Joris Mathijsen.

Feyenoord won the match 2-1, but after the game Lens was charged for bringing the game into disrepute when he confronted Mathijsen, which caused players from both teams to begin scuffling in the tunnel.

Lens has since apologized for his actions, which included waiting for Mathijsen outside the dressing room.

Both Lens and Mathijsen are members of the Dutch national team, and Lens will now miss the next three games with his side sitting two points clear at the top of the Eredivisie table.

Lens, 25, has tallied nine goals in 14 league games this season.
