PSV Eindhoven claimed its first points of the season on Saturday, thrashing Roda with a 5-0 victory at the Philips Stadion.

Kevin Strootman opened the scoring in the 13th minute to give the home side a one-goal lead heading into the halftime break.

The second half saw PSV explode for four goals as Ola Toivonen got things started just four minutes after the restart.

Abel Tamata's own goal in the 77th minute put the result out of reach for Roda, but PSV put an exclamation point at the end of the result through Jeremain Lens in the 80th minute and Georginio Wijnaldum seven minutes later.

The result sees PSV bounce back from its disappointing 3-2 defeat to RKC Waalwijk last time out.

Utrecht also picked up three points on Saturday, overturning a one-goal deficit to claim a 3-1 win over Venlo at De Koel.

Elsewhere in Saturday's Eredivisie action, Vitesse downed Zwolle 1-0, Twente edged NAC 1-0 and Feyenoord played to a 1-1 draw with Heerenveen.
