Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Edwin Encarnacion hit a three-run homer as Toronto bested Boston by a 7-1 count in the middle test of a three-game series.

Josh Donaldson ended up 3-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI for the Blue Jays, while Devon Travis, Jose Bautista and Russell Martin all drove in a run apiece.

Drew Hutchison (3-0) lasted just long enough to snag the win, working five full frames and giving up a run on seven hits with six strikeouts.

"Hutch did a great job today," Travis said. "He pounded the zone and came at all the hitters."

Dustin Pedroia knocked in the lone run for the Red Sox, with Mookie Betts and Pablo Sandoval notching a pair of hits in defeat.

Joe Kelly (1-2) walked a season-high seven batters and allowed six runs on four hits over his 5 2/3-inning outing.

"I was missing a lot of pitches today," Kelly said. "I battled myself early in the first couple of innings. What really hurt us was the three-run home run. It was a hanging breaking ball and kind of put a sour taste in my mouth."

Encarnacion reached the second deck in left with two away in the fourth to give the hosts a 5-0 edge. Travis and Bautista were both aboard thanks to drawing walks, and both moved into scoring position on a double steal prior to the blast.

Boston hit the scoreboard in the fifth as Betts doubled and scored when Pedroia followed with a single, but Toronto responded with runs in each of the next two frames thanks to RBI hits by Bautista and Travis which extended the lead to 7-1.

Liam Hendriks allowed just one hit and struck out three after taking over for Hutchison in the sixth, then Roberto Osuna closed out the contest on a 1-2-3 ninth.

Donaldson reached with a one-out single in the first, moved to second on Kelly's botched pickoff throw, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on Martin's fly to right.

Chris Colabello walked to start the second, Travis singled and Donaldson brought in Colabello on a base hit for a 2-0 Jays edge.
