Updated

Will Bynum buried a three-pointer from the left wing with 15.7 seconds left in regulation to send the game to overtime and the Pistons held off the Bobcats 110-107 on Saturday.

Jonas Jerebko gave the Pistons a 105-103 lead with 50.5 seconds left in the extra session and the home team led 108-104 before Reggie Williams connected on a trey to cut the margin to one with 6.4 ticks on the clock.

Tayshaun Prince hit two at the free throw line to make it a three-point game and Byron Mullens and Williams both came up empty on potential game-tying threes as the Pistons secured the victory.

Prince poured in 24 points and Jerebko finished with 18 to help the Pistons earn their third victory in their last four games. Bynum added 17 points in the win.

Mullens led the way for Charlotte, scoring 20 points and grabbing nine rebounds, while D.J. Augustin finished with 16 points and 10 assists, but the Bobcats dropped their seventh straight contest.

Trailing by eight with under three minutes to play, Brandon Knight buried a three for Detroit and after a turnover, Greg Monroe converted a three-point play to trim the margin to 93-91 with just over 1 1/2 minutes left in the fourth.

Augustin finished a tough layup in traffic to make it a two-possession game, but Knight sank another triple, this one from the top of the key to make it a 95-94 game with 1:07 left.

Knight then got a piece of Augustin's three-point try on defense, but Williams intercepted Knight's pass on the other end, and hit both from the free throw line to give the Bobcats a 97-94 lead before Bynum's game-tying triple sent the game to an extra frame.

Earlier in the game, Detroit held a 21-17 lead after one and lead by four with under a minute left in the second before D.J. White sank a hook shot and Augustin sank a three just before the halftime buzzer to send the Bobcats into the locker room with a 49-48 lead.

With the game tied at 54-54 with 8:42 left in the third, Williams connected on back-to-back triples, sparking a 10-0 surge to give the visitors a 64-54 edge just before the midway point of the stanza.

Charlotte took a 77-68 lead into the fourth and led by as many as ten early in the frame.

Detroit will host the Magic on Tuesday, while the Bobcats travel to Toronto on Tuesday...Monroe finished with 16 points and nine rebounds for the Pistons, while Reggie Williams poured in 17 points for the Bobcats...The Pistons outscored the Bobcats 62-42 in the paint.
