Toronto, ON – Philadelphia Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz left Friday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays with a left oblique strain.
Ruiz appeared to suffer the injury while striking out in the top of the sixth inning. He was replaced by Brian Schneider in the bottom half of the frame.
In 58 games this season, Ruiz is hitting .362 with eight homers and 35 RBI. He will be re-evaluated on Saturday.
