A person with knowledge of the contract says free agent safety Dashon Goldson has agreed to a $41.25 million, five-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press on Wednesday because the team had yet to formally announce Goldson's deal.

Goldson spent the past two seasons on one-year contracts with the NFC champion San Francisco 49ers, including last year with the franchise tag. He made it clear he sought a long-term deal, and he got it across the country with the Bucs.
