Perry Ellis has 17 points and 9 rebounds, No. 11 Kansas beats No. 20 Michigan State 61-56

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Perry Ellis had 17 points and nine rebounds to help No. 11 Kansas beat Michigan State 61-56 Sunday in the championship game of the Orlando Classic.

Svi Mykhailiuk added 11 points and Frank Mason III chipped in 10 for Kansas (5-1).

Michigan State (5-2) got 14 points from both Denzel Valentine and Travis Trice.

Trice's 3 made it 59-56 with 1:36 to play. After both teams failed to score on their next possession, Jamari Traylor hit two free throws in the final minute.

Kansas grabbed its biggest lead, 54-46, on Cliff Alexander's three-point play with 7 1-2 left.
