Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Pittsburgh Penguins announced Tuesday that forward Beau Bennett is the latest member of the team and latest player in the NHL to have contracted mumps.

Bennett was scratched for Monday's 4-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning as a precaution after he displayed symptoms of the illness.

Pens captain Sidney Crosby has been held out of action since last Tuesday after his bout with the disease, but Crosby has apparently passed out of the infectious phase of the illness.

Bennett has recorded just one goal and two assists in seven games this season for the Metropolitan Division leaders.
