Chris Patton scored five of his season-high 30 points in double overtime to help UC Riverside edge Cal State Northridge 106-105 on Saturday night.

Josh Greene scored six of his 26 points in the second overtime, giving Northridge a 103-99 lead with 2:11 left. Patton's second jumper of the period sparked a 7-0 run to give Riverside a 106-103 lead.

Greene missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer, but Aaron Parks grabbed the rebound, scored and was fouled by Patton with a second left. Northridge's Stephen Maxwell missed the free throw, and Taylor Johns pulled in the rebound for Riverside (9-19, 4-10 Big West).

Maxwell made his first free throw, yet missed the second with 3 seconds left to send it into the first overtime tied at 83.

Stephan Hicks hit a 3 for Northridge (14-17, 6-9) at the buzzer to send it to the second overtime tied at 97.
