The New England Patriots released veteran tight end Bo Scaife on Tuesday.

Scaife was signed by the Patriots as a free agent on June 7.

A sixth-round pick by Tennessee in the 2005 draft, Scaife played 90 games for the Titans over the next six seasons, recording 251 receptions for 2,383 yards and 12 touchdowns.

He then signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as a free agent prior to last season, but was forced to sit out the entire year with a neck injury.

New England also released offensive lineman Mike Ingersoll.
