The Florida Panthers signed forward Brad Boyes and defenseman Tom Gilbert on Saturday.

Both players had been with the team during training camp on a professional tryout.

Boyes had 10 goals and 25 assists in 48 games for the New York Islanders last season. Originally a first-round pick by the Maple Leafs in the 2000 draft, Boyes has 168 goals and 239 assists in 606 NHL games with the Sharks, Bruins, Blues, Sabres and Islanders.

Gilbert had three goals and 10 assists in 43 games for the Minnesota Wild last season. He has 36 goals and 140 assists in 447 NHL contests with the Oilers and Wild.
