The Baltimore Orioles made several roster moves prior to Saturday's contest with the Detroit Tigers.

The O's activated catcher Taylor Teagarden from the 60-day disabled list, selected the contract of pitcher Miguel Socolovich from Triple-A Norfolk, optioned catcher Ronny Paulino to Norfolk and designated pitcher Dana Eveland for assignment.

Teagarden has yet to play in the majors this season, sidelined with a strained back at the outset. He hit .235 with two RBI in 14 games for Texas last year.

Socolovich was 3-0 with a 1.77 earned-run average in 24 appearances at Norfolk this season.

Paulino knocked in five runs with a .254 average in 20 games for the big club in 2012.

Eveland finished 0-1 with a 4.73 ERA in 14 games with Baltimore.

The Orioles also disclosed right-hander Jason Hammel will miss his next start due to a right knee injury. He was hurt in Friday's game against Detroit.
