The tug-of-war for recruits is in full swing in college football, and Ohio State has lost a key chip. Phil Jurkovec, a four-star quarterback from Pennsylvania, chose Notre Dame over a number of schools Monday, including the Buckeyes.

"It's the right fit for me," Jurkovec told 247Sports. "The whole education of Notre Dame from the books to the spiritually, the whole university and everything that it offers I just fell in love with it."

Jurkovec, a sought-after dual threat, was also being pursued by Alabama, Clemson, Michigan State, Penn State, UCLA and others. The 6-5, 190-pound quarterback was one of Ohio State's top targets for 2018, working out at the Ohio Nike The Opening Regional.
